Updates on Multi-Channel-Management roll out

Insights to your MCM strategy

Multi-channel management (MCM) is a new product that allows advertisers to buy native inventory via their search campaigns and optimizes campaigns towards downstream KPIs. It also enables a visual experience across different types of placements within the Microsoft Advertising ecosystem and taps into first-party data. Instead of optimizing one network over the other, both search and audience networks need to be optimized and maximized towards the goal individually.

Text

Description automatically generatedOn February 21st, MCM was launched globally, yet there was a slow and steady ramp-up of net new traffic. This means that any net new incremental traffic is being ramped up slowly into the ecosystem. We expect the full ramp up end of April.

We see some first results from advertisers globally that are taking advantage of MCM by an increase in performance particularly seeing higher conversion rates and lower CPAs.

Here are some general tips that can help improve performance of the search workflow:

  • Use Image extensions
    • Ideally supply your own images
  • Use Multi-Media Ads (MMA) for individual search campaign
  • Active UET
  • Define conversion goals

New Bing & Edge

Updates on the development of the new Bing & Edge

Since we announced the new Bing and Edge, the vision of moving beyond Search to create your copilot for the Web is landing broadly in the market. People are finding value in having search, chat, answers, and creation capabilities all in one experience.

There are now more than 100M daily active users of Bing. New scenarios like chat are driving engagement, including more than 100M chats. Of the millions of users in Preview, one third are new to Bing creating net new opportunity for publishers. This is still early data, but the signs are encouraging.

Based on our data from the preview, we are driving more traffic from all types of users. We have brought more people to Bing/Edge for new scenarios like chat and we are seeing increased usage. Then, we have uniquely implemented ways to drive traffic to publishers including citations and for brands with ad placements.

The new Bing and Edge is continuously in development and extending its capabilities. We increased the maximum turns in a single conversation from 15 to 20. The total number of turns per day has also increased from 150 to 200. We integrated image and video search into Bing chat. We improved local grounding for local-related queries such as finding a park, a store, or a doctor’s office near you.

For advertisers, several formats are available from text, multimedia, product and vertical ads – and more to come! Relevancy has also increased with the expansion on mobile app with the Bing app and Skype app. The mobile adoption has led to a 6x increase in daily active users from pre-launch levels. Recently the Bing AI experience has also been added to SwiftKey and Microsoft Start.

With all the excitement, naturally there are questions, concerns, and curiosity about this latest development in tech, particularly when it comes to ensuring that AI is used responsibly and ethically. Microsoft’s Chief Responsible AI Officer, Natasha Crampton has shared seven key insights to understand how Microsoft ensures a responsible approach to AI development.
